Biography

Clive re-joined St Mary's in September 2013 as a Senior Lecturer in Education with responsibility for Recruitment and Selection to the University's Secondary-phase PGCE provision. Previously, Clive led our Secondary Mathematics PGCE (2003-2007).

Clive has an MA in Educational Leadership, awarded in 2000 from Brunel University. The research project was a comparative study of educational leadership training between Australia and England, specifically the NPQH training programme and leadership training within the state of New South Wales. His work focussed on some of the traits and characteristics that each country specifically identified as important for their educational leaders. In order to make these comparisons, Clive taught in a New South Wales high school for the whole of 1999. He has also used his teaching qualifications to work within some international schools in Singapore.

Prior to joining St Mary's in 2003, Clive has worked in a number of local schools and had a range of responsibilities as his teaching career developed. He joined St Mary's from an Assistant Headteacher position of an awarded, improved school having previously been Head of Mathematics and Head of Year in his two preceding schools.
