St Mary's Coaching Bursary
Development opportunities for individuals are central to the sporting offer at St Mary's and we have a vast array of opportunities for students to gain qualifications and experience whilst enhancing their employability.
Throughout the year, bursaries are available to students for coaching, refereeing and other sporting qualifications. The scheme provides funding to students in return for deployment within the St Mary's programmes or in the community.
SIMMSport is our children's sports programme which takes place on campus with over 1,000 children participating each week. Our programme includes athletics, gymnastics, football and rugby sessions for children aged 5-12 years.
Students are able to gain qualifications and experience, and take on paid roles. All coaches begin with a trial period and the programme gives students the chance to develop their coaching skills by leading sport sessions each week.
A development pathway is in place for all our coaches, whether they are paid or volunteering. If you are interested in gaining additional coaching and/or voluntary opportunities, please contact our Sports Volunteering & Community Outreach Officer Gareth Crewe at email@example.com
