Studying Part-Time at St Mary's
Many of our courses can be studied on a part-time basis. This will be day-time study of between four and six hours per week. It is possible to vary the amount of study you take on each year and, therefore, the time it takes to complete your degree will vary.
Many spread a three-year degree over six years. You may choose to study for a Certificate or Diploma of Higher Education if you do not wish to commit yourself to a full degree course. If you have not studied for a while, we also allow you to take one or more modules as an associate student.
The University operates an open access policy for its undergraduate part-time courses. However, prospective students are advised to discuss their applications with the relevant Programme Director.

A Student View
Julie Saunders (Education in Context)
"Being a mature student returning to further my education, whilst juggling work and family commitments is quite a challenge, but my course offers a flexible and achievable way to gain higher qualifications. I needn’t have been apprehensive when I first started as I've settled in really well. Coming on the course is the best decision I’ve made."
