It is required that everyone working with children and vulnerable adults in England and Wales obtains a satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
We require all teacher trainees to complete an enhanced DBS check, which will cost £51.20.
Once you have accepted your place to study at St Mary’s we will send you an activation email to begin your DBS application via GBG Online Disclosures. You will need to have the following information (if available) to complete your application form:
- Mother’s maiden name
- Five year address history including dates
- National Insurance number
- Driving licence
- National identity card
- Three identity documents (minimum). Originals will need to be presented to the St Mary’s Admissions Team. View acceptable documents
If you have had any name changes, you must also present evidence of this - including dates - to the St Mary's Admissions Team.
Please note: you will only have to complete a DBS check if you are planning to study an Initial Teacher Training programme. Sport Rehabilitation and Physical and Sport Education students may also need to complete a DBS check depending on their work placements.
