What is Clearing?

Clearing is a way for people who don't have an offer to study at university to find degree programmes that still have places available.

There are many reasons why you may be applying the universities through Clearing. It may be because you didn't meet the entry requirements of your chosen degree or that you haven't yet applied through UCAS.

Clearing begins every year in the summer and ends around the time that degree courses are starting in the autumn. In order to apply though Clearing you'll need to have your final results. If you are still awaiting grades you will need to wait for these before you can make a full application, but you may be able to pre-register with your preferred universities.

We have put together a complete guide to Clearing, which will help you through the process.
