New training resources for Academic Staff on Academic Integrity

New training has been developed on Academic Integrity for academic staff, and other staff involved in setting and marking student work at UG, PG and PGR levels. It is crucial – in terms of safeguarding the integrity of the University’s degree awards – that all staff are aware of the regulations and processes associated with academic misconduct and their role(s) in ensuring that students demonstrate academic integrity in their practices. The training consists of a 35-minute video, and an accompanying set of PowerPoint slides.

Academic integrity training modules for staff: Access the modules via the Academic Development at St Mary’s Moodle pages, by clicking ‘Academic Integrity Training’ on the lefthand column, and scrolling down to see the module folders.

The modules are designed to introduce staff to key aspects of academic integrity, starting with basic concepts and progressing to more advanced aspects. Topics include supporting students to learn about good academic practices and building more robust approaches to academic integrity into  modules and assessments that minimise opportunities for academic misconduct.
