Events and reunions

St Mary’s Alumni Weekend: Friday 19th June – Sunday 21st June 2020

We are delighted to announce the introduction of the St Mary’s Annual Alumni Weekend, when the whole campus, including accommodation, will be set aside for St Mary’s alumni, to reconnect with friends and celebrate their time at St Mary’s.

The first Alumni Weekend will take place on Friday 19th June to Sunday 21st June 2020, when we will celebrate 170 years of St Mary’s.  All alumni are invited to attend the weekend, and there will be special events within the weekend for those celebrating significant anniversaries e.g. 10, 20, 30, 40 and 50+ years since graduation.  We plan to organise a range of other activities too, such as opportunities to tour the University, sports fixtures and lectures, and there will be Mass on the Sunday.

We look forward to welcoming you back to St Mary’s, so please put the date in your diary.

Planning is in the early stages, but we can whet your appetite with the following. The University Bar will be open on Friday night and the resident DJ from that era, Mick Greenwood has agreed to recreate a disco from the days of the Old Bar. The on-campus café will be open from 12 noon until 4pm on Saturday afternoon when there are plans for a Simms quiz and photo boards, and the group will come together on Saturday evening for drinks and a buffet meal in The Waldegrave Ballroom. Mass will be held on Sunday at 11am.  Single en suite rooms are available on campus and 15 twin rooms on Waldegrave Park Road have been made available for those of you who want to relive the authentic college experience!
