We are a diverse community of staff and students, with close links to our local area as well as extensive global connections. Our expertise spans business, marketing, communications, law, criminology, and politics, and we offer a range of undergraduate, postgraduate, and research degrees across these subjects.

Our teaching is practice-led and focuses on equipping you for your future career, with an emphasis on giving you real life experience and developing the skills you need for a fast-changing workplace. Our staff have a wealth of practitioner as well as academic experience and bring current industry practice to the classroom.

Our research is internationally recognised for influencing social policy and driving change for social good.

What are micro-credentials? 

Micro-credentials are compact learning experiences that focus on specific skill sets. They are ideal for students looking to:

  • Learn flexibly, with options for online, self-paced, and in-person workshops. 

  • Achieve formal recognition of their efforts through a Moodle badge and an official certificate upon completion.

We are continually growing our micro-credential offerings. The following are currently available: 

  • Become a Microsoft Office Expert – Basic Level (Online, Self-Access) 

  • Advocacy Skills (Interactive Workshop) 

  • Professional Presenting (Practical Workshop) 

Micro-credential courses are free of charge for all Faculty of Business and Law students. These short courses represent excellent for the skills and recognition you gain.
