Catholic education research and scholarship at St Mary's University: the achievements of the past and the challenges for the future

Date: Monday 7th November 2016, 6pm Location: Waldegrave Room, St Mary's University

The academic and professional field of Catholic Education Studies has now achieved international recognition. This has been established by the contributions of Theologians, Philosophers, Historians, Social and Economic Scientists, Natural Scientists, Education scholars and researchers, School leaders and teachers and members of Religious Congregations with missions in education who have written about Catholic education, in all its forms, across the world in recent decades.

The outcomes of these studies can be seen in publications such as the International Handbook of Catholic Education, 2 vols (2007); the journal, International Studies in Catholic Education (2009 – 2016+) and invited contribution to the distinguished series, World Library of Educationalists published by Routledge, of a text entitled, Faith, Mission and Challenge in Catholic Education (2015).
