Data Problems or Problem Data

Date:
Monday 19 November 2018
Time:
1.00pm - 2.00pm

Location: Shannon 3, St Mary's University, Twickenham

Join us for an open session with Suzanne Jozefowicz and Grant Healy, from Incorvus Ltd, on the topic of  “Data problems or problem data?” The legal profession has its own peculiar challenges in managing client and firm data differently and applying due process within a digital environment.

Incorvus is an information governance consultancy experienced at resolving data issues, so often at the root of of bigger IT and business problems. The session will cover the importance of data in the Information Age, especially where this touches on governance, decision-making and corporate risk – for instance in relation to GDPR.

Incorvus believes data (including metadata) should be the starting point for organisations about to:

  • devise their IT strategy;
  • make strategic IT choices;
  • evaluate the use of disruptive technologies; or
  • embark upon merger or acquisition.

This session is part of the Commercial Awareness Seminar Series run by Lloyd Gash, Senior Lecturer in Law, and is open to all interested students and staff.

Suzanne and Grant’s expertise and passion for information governance complements the subject matters covered in the series to date, following previous sessions on tech-disruption, narrow and general AI and policy responses.
