- Time:
- 6pm-7.30pm
In this talk, David Langrish (Head of the Public History team at The National Archives) will explore the surviving case papers of those who sought exemption from Conscription in Middlesex between 1916 and 1918.
Through these selected case studies, which provide a rich primary source of local and social history from the Home Front, David will attempt to highlight the many and varied domestic challenges that individuals and households faced during this unprecedented period of warfare. In doing so we will begin to see the impacts that the wider war effort had on local communities.
There will be time for questions after the talk, and refreshments will be provided.
The entry price will be 50p payable on the door.
