Dr Linda Saunders will give a lecture entitled Reading aliteracy in KS2 and KS3: Exploring pedagogy to support disengaged readers.

Linda is a senior lecturer at St Mary's University. She is a very experienced primary classroom practitioner who has also taught in secondary and special schools. Linda has taught across both undergraduate and postgraduate courses. She currently teaches on the Educational Doctorate and on the MA LIAC and Pedagogy programmes.

Linda is particularly interested in developing suitable pedagogy to promote reading engagement. This was the focus for her PhD and for subsequent research. Linda has spoken at a number of conferences on this area, both in the UK and internationally.  

Her first solo book, Progression in Primary English’ was published by Sage in 2015. Linda combines university-based work with primary teaching and secondary and primary school CPD.
