Launch of the Populism Research Cluster

Date:
Wednesday 15th May 2019
Time:
6.15pm-8pm
Venue:
Waldegrave Drawing Room, St Mary's University

Across the West, there is a rising tide of people who feel excluded, alienated from mainstream politics, and increasingly hostile towards minorities, immigrants and neo-liberal economics.

Many of these voters are turning to national populist movements, which have begun to change the face of Western liberal democracy, from the United States to France, Austria to the UK.

Prof Roger Eatwell will present and discuss his latest book, co-written with Prof Matthew Goodwin, titled National Populism: The Revolt Against the Liberal Democracy.

This Public Lecture delivered at St Mary’s University will correspond to the launch of the new University Research Cluster on Law, Economics and Politics of Populism led by Dr Aurelien Portuese.
