David Sheppard: Batting for the Poor

The Faculty of Education, Humanities and Social Sciences and the Benedict XVI Centre in the Institute of Theology at St Mary’s University, Twickenham are hosting the launch of the biography of Rt Rev Lord Sheppard of Liverpool, the former Bishop of Liverpool.

David Sheppard: Batting for the Poor by Andrew Bradstock, celebrates the life of a man of great faith and talent. His influence on issues from apartheid to the problems of poverty and inter-religious tensions in the city he served as bishop for so long was immense.

The event will begin at 6pm and there will be short addresses at 6.30pm by the author and by Jenny Sinclair, David Sheppard’s daughter who is Director of the Charity Together for the Common Good. There will then be an opportunity to socialise and purchase copies of the book.

This event is free to attend, but please register due to limited room capacity.
