2019-2020 International Film Series: The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind

A terrible drought has hit a village in Malawi, and people have nothing to eat or drink. A thirteen-year-old boy, William Kamkuamb, decides to save the village from starvation. In the library, he finds scientific books on physics. By building a wind generator, William comes up with an unconventional way to save his family and village from starvation.

CREMCYA and CSMS invite you to come and watch the film with us and then stay to discuss its rich themes, including famine, poverty, and education.
