Water is a dramatic film written and directed by Indian filmmaker, Deepa Mehta. The film is the third and final instalment of Mehta's Elements trilogy (the other films being Earth and Fire). Following the sudden and unexpected death of her husband, a widowed child bride lashes out against her fate in a Hindu ashram in Varanasi, India, where she is expected to compensate for her sins.
CREMCYA invites you to come and watch the film with us and then stay to discuss its rich themes, including gender, child marriage, and women’s rights.
This event is free to attend.
