Destined for the dustbin? The ethics of UK embryo disposal practices

Fertility treatment has provided hope to countless individuals unable to have children.

However, in the last 20 years over 2.5 million embryos have been disposed of, many left over from treatment. This lecture will examine how these ‘spare’embryos are currently destroyed in UK clinics and explore whether disposal practices can be carried out in a more sensitive and respectful manner.
