Increasing Access to Playwriting in Challenging Times

Date:
Wednesday 18th November 2020
Time:
6pm-7pm
Venue:
Online via Zoom

Breaking into the world of new writing can feel impossible, especially for those who come from backgrounds that are typically under-represented in the theatre industry.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, these barriers may seem even more challenging. The Drama Department at St Mary's has convened a panel from some of the UK's leading literary departments to discuss how they and their institutions are responding to this situation, offering ideas and advice about how to make your way in the industry.

Join the discussion on Zoom and gain inside knowledge and advice from Steve Harper (Theatre 503), Ifrah Ismail (Talawa) and Tom Wright (Kiln Theatre). We will also hear from emerging writers from St Mary's MA Playwriting degree and from faculty members Sola Oyeleye (BA Acting) and Brian Mullin (MA Playwriting), who will moderate.
