Changing the story: using I poems to navigate the ethical complexity of emotional narratives

This paper, presented by Viki Veale, explores the use of poems as a way of involving participants in a hermeneutic loop as co-analysts of their career journey.

In this interactive workshop, participants will be invited to explore the technique as a way of revoicing their own stories, exposing points of dissonance within their lived experience and reconnecting with their own agency.

Initial reflections on how this technique can support researchers to navigate the ethical complexity of emotional narratives will be discussed.
