Understanding the benefits and challenges of life skill development in sport and PE for social and restorative justice

Part of the SWIFT Research Centre Webinar Series (St Mary’s University in partnership with UNC Greensboro and UCFB, London).

All are welcome to join this webinar where we’ll hear from our guests about the possibilities and challenges associated with developing life skills in young people through PE and sport. After two short presentations the webinar opens into a forum for Q&A from all participants.

The session opens up with short presentations from Dr Michael Hemphill who invites us to consider the contexts in which youth life skills are used and how this can enable restorative justice. The next presentation is from Dr Darren Nolan sharing insights about his research supporting life skills development knowledge among community coaches who working in primary school settings. Dr Abbe Brady is facilitating the session.

This webinar is aimed at anyone with an interest in understanding the personal and social significance of supporting life skills in children and young people.

The session is likely to appeal to teachers, sports coaches and leaders, undergraduate and postgraduate students, academics and scholars and anyone with an interest in this area.

This one hour webinar will take place on Wednesday 6th April at 6pm UK time (1pm EST).
