Scholarship on St John Henry Newman tends to focus on his theology, and occasionally his forays into writing literature – but this two day colloquium strikes a different note: asking how the study of literature informs understandings of Newman’s theology itself.
Join us and a selection of leading Newman specialists working on this intersection of Newman and Literary Studies, including:
- Professor Michael Hurley (Cambridge University)
- Dr Francesca Caraceni (Universita Cattolica del Sacro Cuore)
- Prof Bernadette Waterman Ward (University of Dallas)
- Professor Emeritus John Charmley (St Mary’s University)
- Dr Jacob Phillips (St Mary’s University).
The event will take place 9am-5pm on both days.
