School of Liberal and Creative Arts Research Seminar

Chelsea Persaud, PhD student in the School of Business and Law is visiting the School of Liberal and Creative Arts to share her research with us. The title of Chelsea's paper is 'Music and Well-being-A Case Study of a British South Asians'.

Chelsea's paper will discuss the Pakistani, Indian, and Bangladeshi community in the United Kingdom and how music has and continues to assist in creating a safe space for them to express themselves and grow. I will touch on the beginnings of British South Asian music such as the Daytime Raves and British Bhangra, as well as, the evolution of British South Asian music and musicians.
