There will be three or four ceremonies on each day. Your ceremony date and time is specified on your invitation.

Further information about the event, such as a Graduation Map and ‘Notes for the Day, is now available to view and print.

Invitations

All eligible graduands will receive their invitation by email. These webpages contain the same information as the invitation, along with notes for Graduands and their guests on what to expect in each ceremony.

Dress code

It is compulsory for Graduands to wear academic dress for their graduation ceremony, and all Graduands must follow the dress code below for their ceremony and the post-ceremony celebration:

  • Male Graduands: Dark suit, white shirt and a tie
  • Female Graduands: Smart formal wear

Your certificate

If you have not yet completed your course, your certificate will be sent through the post to your home address on successful completion of your course by the end of August 2021. Therefore, certificates will not be presented at the ceremony in July.

If your permanent address has changed please let us know by emailing graduation@stmarys.ac.uk , so that we can post the certificate to the correct address.

Please note: the name on your certificate will be the name that you registered with when you joined St Mary’s. If you want to check what name will be on your certificate or if you have any other queries, please email graduation@stmarys.ac.uk.

In order to receive your certificate you will need to ensure that you have settled any outstanding debts to the University, such as tuition, accommodation and library fees.

St Mary’s University has changed the supplier for tickets and photography to facilitate planning for the large Graduation event in Summer 2021.

Therefore, Marston Events has agreed with the University to process refunds for all tickets and photography that you booked for Spring Graduation 2020, directly to you.

In order to process refunds within 14-30 days, please provide the following information to accounts@marstonevents.com as soon as possible:

  • Full Name
  • Order Number
  • Current bank account details (precise name on account, sort code and account number) if you prefer to receive your refund by bacs (bank transfer)
    or
  • Current delivery address to use and precise payee name, if you prefer to receive your refund by cheque.

An email update will be sent back to you once the refund has been processed.


Travelling to St Mary’s main campus

St Mary’s is located on Waldegrave Road. If you’re using a Sat Nav, the postcode for Main Campus is TW1 4SX.

There will be limited event parking on the rugby pitches on the day. If you are travelling by car, please arrive via the White Gates entrance to park. We would encourage, where possible, to travel by Public Transport.

Strawberry Hill station is around a 5-minute walk to campus and there are usually four trains an hour to Waterloo.

Local restaurant offers

A range of local restaurants are offering deals to families and students during graduation:

  • The Shack (Twickenham): Free bottle of Prosecco for each graduate available with a two-course lunch meal
    Ribs and Burgers (Teddington): 15% discount when showing student card
    Ruba (Teddington): 20% off total bill or a welcome drink such as a glass of wine, prosecco, beer or soft drink (guests can choose one of the offers not both)
