St Mary’s has a lively and diverse student community, with students from over 100 countries outside the UK representing approximately 10% of its 6,000 students.

Below you will find lots of useful information for Italian Applicants, but if you still have more questions, please feel free to email student.recruitment@stmarys.ac.uk

Entry requirements

Undergraduate academic requirements

St Mary’s accepts the Diploma di Esame di Stato with an overall grade of 60, although some of our undergraduate degrees may require an interview or that you to have studied specific subjects as part of your curriculum.

We understand that not everyone is able to attend an interview on campus, and so wherever possible we do attempt to arrange an alternative, such as an interview over Skype. Further details about specific subjects and interview requirements are found on the Entry Requirements section of each course page.

If you have any questions about whether your qualifications may be accepted, our entry requirements, or the applications process please contact the St Mary’s Admissions Team by emailing admit@stmarys.ac.uk or calling +44 (0) 20 8240 4029.

Postgraduate academic requirements

We accept applicants with Italian university degrees, although the entry requirements may depend on the type of degree awarded and when it was awarded. The Lauea Triennale is considered equivalent to a UK Honours degree.

The UK academic requirements for each course are listed in the Entry Requirements section of each course page, and we will compare them with against the grades you obtained in Italy.

Please use the table below as a general guide, but if you are interested in applying to St Mary’s University and are unsure whether your qualifications are suitable please email admit@stmarys.ac.uk or call +44 (0) 20 8240 2367.

Students who have achieved a grade C or higher in one A-level subject or a 5 or higher in an International Baccalaureate subject which is assessed by completing essays in the English language already meet our English language requirements and will not need to provide a separate qualification.
