St Mary's has a lively and diverse student community, with students from over 100 countries outside the UK representing approximately 10% of its 6,000 students.

Entry requirements

Undergraduate academic requirements

National Certificate in Educational Achievement (NCEA) with 65 to 70 Level 3 credits with E or M in specified subjects.


Postgraduate academic requirements

Bachelor’s degree (Ordinary or Honours).

English EquivalentNew Zealand Degree:Classification (Honours)New Zealand Degree:Letter Score
2:1 Second Class (Upper Division) B+
2:2 Second Class (Lower Division) C+

English language requirements

If English is not your first language you will be required to evidence your English language ability required for academic study. Please see our English Language Requirements page for our standard entry requirements.

Scholarships

Students from New Zealand who are offered a place to study at St Mary’s will automatically be considered for one of St Mary's International Student Scholarships – these are available to new, full-time undergraduate and postgraduate taught degree students in any subject area.

For undergraduate applicants, the scholarship is worth up-to £3000 off the cost of your first year tuition fee. For postgraduate applicants the scholarship is worth up-to £3000 off the total cost of your tuition fee.
