St Mary's University warmly welcomes students from Turkey.

St Mary’s has a lively and diverse student community, with students from over 100 countries outside the UK representing approximately 10% of its 6,000 students.

St Mary's entry requirements

Undergraduate:

  • British/International A Levels (from a minimum 104 UCAS tariff points depending on course)
  • IB Diploma (from a minimum 28 points depending on course)Devlet Lise Diplomasi (State High School diploma) Grade Average 60% or aboveLise Bitirme Diplomasi (Private High School Diploma) Grade Average 60% or above
  • Meslek Lisesi Diplomasi (Vocational High School Diploma) Grade Average 60% or above
  • Ön-Lisans Diplomasi (Associate degree)A recognised foundation course

Postgraduate:

  • Lisans Diplomasi (Bachelor's degree) with a CGPA of 2.5 or higher
  • Degree equivalent to UK Honours Bachelor’s degree (2.2 minimum)

English language requirements:

If English is not your first language you will be required to evidence your English language ability required for academic study. Please see our English Language Levels page for our standard entry requirements.

St Mary's in Turkey

Turkish students who are offered a place to study at St Mary’s will automatically be considered for one of St Mary's International Student Scholarships – these are available to new, full-time undergraduate and postgraduate taught degree students in any subject area.

For undergraduate applicants, the scholarship is worth up-to £3000 off the cost of your first year tuition fee. For postgraduate applicants the scholarship is worth up-to £3000 off the total cost of your tuition fee.

The Local Community

The Students’ Union

You are welcomed as a member of our thriving Students’ Union as soon as you arrive at St Mary’s and there are lots of opportunities to get involved.

There is a wide range of societies for you to join, such as the International Society, the Enterprise Society and the Dance Society, as well as over 20 different sports societies, ranging from football and cricket to badminton. Please see the Students’ Union website for a full list.

In the Local Area

London has a long-standing nationality community and there are many organisations that bring the community together through social events, sports and cultural activities. The Anglo-Turkish Society was founded to promote friendship and understanding between the people of the two countries promotes cultural and social events relating to Turkey, such as the London Turkish Film Festival, and host a regular programme of activities. The Leighton House Museum is an exceptional example of architecture that reflects the wide reaching influence of Turkish art and design. The Islamic Society of Britain is a community based charity which organises events and activities which aim to combine Muslim and British cultures.

London caters for members of nearly all faiths, and celebrates all of the major religious festivals, including Eid. It is home to one of the largest mosques in Western Europe, the Baitul Futuh Mosque in Morden, South London. You can also find a wide range of Turkish restaurants and food shops in and around London – many of these are listed on the TimeOut website.
