A sustainability charity, co-founded by Prof Paul Clarke at St Mary’s University College, Twickenham was named Sustainability Solution of the Year at the 2Degrees Awards, which took place at the beginning of the month. The Pop-Up Foundation works with schools, communities and businesses to enable sustainability projects in the UK to flourish. Projects include the Pop up Farm and the Happy Coffee Bean Company. The Foundation was up against multinational companies like Unilever, Tesco, Wal-Mart and O2, but was voted as winner of the Solution of the Year category, which recognises Godsend sustainability products or services. Paul said, “We are delighted to have won the Solution of the Year award and would like to thank everyone that voted for us. In the next few months we will be launching a number of new initiatives such as the Bioneears School Community initiative, and the Digital Natural Archive (DNA) project and I look forward to sharing the next story of the project soon.”
