St Mary’s Academic Elected to the Board of Directors for the UKSCA

Richard Blagrove at St Mary’s University, Twickenham, has been elected to the Board of Directors at the UK Strength and Conditioning Association.

Richard Blagrove, Programme Director for BSc Strength and Conditioning Science at St Mary’s University, Twickenham, has been elected to the Board of Directors for the UK Strength and Conditioning Association (UKSCA). Currently working as a coach educator for the UKSCA, Richard delivers weekend workshops around the country to practitioners who are working towards their professional accreditation. He has also published three articles in the organisation’s journal over the last year, including ‘Interference phenomenon during training regimens that attempt to develop strength and endurance related qualities concurrently’, and ‘The integration of unilateral strength training for the low extremity in athletic preparation programmes’. Richard Blagrove profile Richard, who provides strength and conditioning coaching support for a number of international athletes through The St Mary’s Clinic commented, “It is an honour to be elected as a Director of the UKSCA by fellow coaches from the industry. It is an exciting time for the organisation and the strength and conditioning industry in the UK, and I am looking forward to contributing towards its development over the next two years.” The UKSCA is a non-profit organisation that managed by a voluntary Board of Directors, elected from and by the Accredited membership. They aim to ensure high professional standards for UK Strength and Conditioning Practitioners as well as facilitating communications between members and representing their interests.
