St Mary’s Hosts Drama and Careers Networking Event

On Tuesday 25th November Drama St Mary’s joined with the Careers Service at St Mary’s University, Twickenham to host a networking event for students. The event saw speakers including St Mary’s Alumni from 1964-2003 and organisations including Wembley Stadium, Bury Theatre St Edmonds and Orange Tree Theatre talk to current students about their experiences in the industry. St Mary’s also welcomed back Alumni Peter Cox MBE, the award winning playwright, screenwriter and narrative artist in theatre, television, radio and contemporary circus. During the networking session, four students were offered work placements with Peter Cox MBE, two with Orange Tree Theatre and all students (37) were offered the opportunity to apply for Ushering roles at Orange Tree Theatre. The annual event attracted more students than ever, “It was extremely helpful, I gained valuable advice and there was a real wealth of experience.”
