St Mary's Alumnus wins Silver Medal at European Rowing Championships

St Mary’s University, Twickenham Alumnus Moe Sbihi won the Silver medal as part of the Team GB’s Men’s Eight crew at the European Rowing Championships.

St Mary’s University, Twickenham Alumnus Moe Sbihi won the Silver medal as part of the Team GB’s Men’s Eight crew at the European Rowing Championships, held at Lake Malta in Poznan, Poland from the 29th to 31st May. The crew competed against a host of top European teams in the final, finishing second to Germany by just 2.06 seconds with a time of 5:26.29. Russia claimed the Bronze medal with a time of 5:27.34. Elsewhere at the championships, Team GB saw lots of success, claiming a total of ten medals, including six Golds. Moe, who studied Sport Science with Health, Nutrition and Exercise as part of a sports scholarship at St Mary’s, has seen his career go from strength to strength in recent years, having been part of the crew that won the Bronze medal in the Men’s Eight at the London 2012 Olympic Games. Moe also had a very successful 2014 season, winning Gold in the Men’s Four at both the World and European Rowing Championship.
