Summer Success for St Mary's Law Students

The Law Programmes at St Mary’s University, Twickenham celebrated the successful graduation of their first cohort of Law LLB students on Monday 20^th July at a ceremony in Westminster Cathedral. The University has been teaching Business Law as a joint honours degree since 2006 and launched the LLB in Law in 2012 and this summer saw that first cohort graduate. Not only do the programmes provide an academically rigorous degree but they also provide students with significant opportunities to develop key employability skills, with St Mary’s ranking eighth in the UK for graduate employability, as well as high levels of teaching satisfaction. In conjunction with local solicitors’ firms, the programmes also awarded prizes to several students. Christopher Tierney was awarded the Blaser Mills prize for achieving the highest grade in Business Law for a majoring student and Joshua Ashby-Young received the Morrisons’ Solicitors award for achieving the highest grade in the Law LLB degree. The programmes also gave prizes to Ariel Barder for receiving the highest grade in the Law Research Project and to Natasha Brown for achieving the highest grade in Business Law for a non-majoring student. St Mary’s Law Programmes Director Vanessa Beever said, “We are delighted and very proud to celebrate the success of all of our graduates today; they have worked very hard during their time here and we wish them the very best in their future careers.”
