As part of their preparations for the upcoming Rugby World Cup 2015 match against Namibia on Thursday 24th September, the New Zealand Rugby squad took part in a lunchtime training session at St Mary’s University, Twickenham. St Mary’s was selected as one of 41 Team bases in conjunction with The Lensbury Club in Teddington. The New Zealand squad utilised the Sport St Mary’s facilities and provided the students with a glimpse of previous World Cup winners Dan Carter and captain Richie McCaw amongst others. St Mary’s has established a fine tradition of providing world-class training facilities for international sports teams. This included 10 nations who trained at St Mary’s throughout the London 2012 Olympic Games.
