As part of its 165th anniversary celebrations, St Mary’s University Twickenham has produced an exciting video exploring some of the interesting elements of its unique history. 2015 has seen St Mary’s host a range of exciting events both on and off campus to celebrate its 165th Anniversary. In May, the University installed its first Chancellor, Cardinal Vincent Nichols, in a special ceremony at Westminster Cathedral. Through September and October, the University was Team Base to Australia, South Africa, and eventual winners New Zealand at Rugby World Cup 2015. During the year St Mary’s has also seen a number of high profile appointments including former President of Ireland Mary McAleese as distinguished visiting professor in Irish Studies. The University also appointed Sir Clive Woodward, Baroness Warsi, Cherie Blair, and Kevin Hyland amongst many others as visiting professors. This year more students than ever graduated from St Mary’s and the University was ranked in the top ten for graduate employability with 96% of graduates in full-time employment or study within six months of graduating. To celebrate the launch of the 165 anniversary video, St Mary’s is running a competition on its Facebook page that will see one lucky member of the University community win a set of Beats by Dre headphones. Participants need to correctly answer three questions, which will be posted at 16.50 each day this week, by 9.30am on Friday 4th December to be in with the chance of winning.
