Image: 16 November 2015 SHARE Following the Papal Encyclical on the Environment Laudato Si, published by Pope Francis in June 2015, St Mary’s University, Twickenham is to host an interdisciplinary conference to explore the meaning of the document on 17th November. Archbishop Emeritus Kevin MacDonald will open the conference, speaking on The Significance of Laudato Si. The keynote speaker is Emeritus Professor of Theology at the University of Wales, Lampeter, Prof Mary Grey. Her fields of interest include ecological theology and spirituality, she has published a number of books on the topic and also previously held a visiting professorship at St Mary’s. The conference will provide an overview of the Encyclical and features speakers from theology, ethics, philosophy, geography, political economy, sustainability and physics. It will provide delegates with an opportunity to participate in the debate, following the Pope’s interventions in the USA and before the Paris Climate conference later this year.
