Vince Cable to Deliver Lecture at St Mary's

Former Member of Parliament for Twickenham (1997-2015) and Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills The Rt Hon Sir Vince Cable will launch his book After the Storm at St Mary’s University, Twickenham on 17th February.

A follow-up to his best-selling book The Storm, which explored the causes of the 2008 financial crisis, After the Storm provides a unique perspective from inside the coalition government, on the state of the global financial markets and how the British economy has faired since the crash.

The book provides a previously unreported inside view of the coalition, and offers a perspective on how the British economy should be managed over the next decade and beyond. Vince Cable served as MP for Twickenham for 18 years, holding a number of high-profile positions during his time in Westminster, including Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills, acting Leader of the Liberal Democrats and Deputy Leader of the Liberal Democrats amongst others.

Taking place in the Waldegrave Drawing Room at 6pm on the 17th February, the event will be followed by a drinks reception and book signing with Vince Cable.
