St Mary's Academic to discuss Easter Rising at Luton Irish Forum

Programme Director of the MA Irish Studies at St Mary’s University, Twickenham Dr Ivan Gibbons will be taking part in a commemoration of the Easter Rising at Luton Irish Forum on Saturday 2nd April 2016. The event will be an afternoon of visual and performing arts, literature, music and lectures introduced by musician and presenter Cerys Matthews. Irish Ambassador Dan Mulhall will be discussing the poets Thomas MacDonagh and Tom Kettle while Dr Gibbons will be examining the British Response to the 1916 Rising. The Easter Rising in Dublin in 1916 is of immense significance to all Irish people, especially those in larger Irish communities such as Luton. The Easter Rising at Luton Irish Forum will be taking place on Saturday 2nd April 2016 at The Hat Factory Arts Centre, Bute Street, Luton. Tickets are £10 (£8 concessions).
