The CUG ranking is based on ten measures: Student Satisfaction, Research Quality, Research Intensity, Entry Standards, Student: Staff Ratio; Spending on Academic Services; Spending on Student Facilities; Good Honours Degrees; Graduate Prospects and Completion.

The rise in the ranking follows St Mary’s 17 place jump in the Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide, where the University rose to its highest place since becoming eligible to join the rankings in 2014.

Vice-Chancellor of St Mary’s Prof Francis Campbell said, “It is great to see the hard work of the St Mary’s community being recognised in this way. We have invested in improving standards across the University and continuing to provide outstanding graduate outcomes whilst placing student voice at the heart of the community.
