A third year Drama Student at St Mary’s University, Twickenham has been nominated for 2018’s Spotlight Prize and will get to perform in front of an exclusive industry panel at this year’s Spotlight Showcase.

Harmony Daniel is one of just 20 students from more than 70 drama schools and universities across the UK and Ireland to be shortlisted for the prize and to be given a unique opportunity to perform in front of casting directors, agents and the wider industry from UK, Europe and the USA.

Harmony, who will represent Drama St Mary’s, will perform two three-minutes pieces in the showcase on Tuesday 17th July at 8 Northumberland Avenue, one for screen and one for stage, for a chance to win one of two £2,000 prizes.

She was shortlisted from hundreds of applicants after her self-taped audition impressed a panel of industry experts.

Spotlight recognises talented performers and gives them a platform to get noticed by agents and casting professionals.

Harmony said, “I am so blessed to have been given such an amazing opportunity. I’m so proud to have trained at Drama St Mary’s and to have been mentored by programme director Julie Spencer. Thank you Spotlight for giving graduates a platform to showcase their work.”

Programme Director for Acting at St Mary’s Julie Spencer said, “This is a tremendous achievement for one of Drama St Mary’s brilliantly talented students. We’re really proud of Harmony and thanks to Spotlight for giving her the opportunity to showcase her talents.”
