St Mary’s Academic Features in BBC Documentary

Interim Head of the Institute of the Theology Dr Jacob Phillips at St Mary’s University, Twickenham recently appeared in the new BBC Documentary My Faith and Me.

In the first episode the four part series, marking the four Sundays of Advent, the documentary follows TV presenter and star of Inside The Factory, Cherry Healey on a journey to explore her spiritual beliefs. 

The series revisits key sliding doors moments from Cherry’s past and re-engages her with key figures who helped shape her life, she experiences moments of revelation and clarity as she questions how faith shaped the person she is today. 

As part of the series, Cherry visited St Mary’s campus in Strawberry Hill and spoke to Jacob about her reservations around organised religion, and religious participation and engagement.
