Members of the Men’s and Women’s Rugby Union Squads at St Mary's University were invited to attend a training session with the Fiji Team at the Lensbury Hotel.

Members of the Men’s and Women’s Rugby Union Squads at St Mary's University were invited to attend a training session with the Fiji Team at the Lensbury Hotel.

The visit took place ahead of the Flying Fijians fixture against the Barbarians at Twickenham Stadium on 16th Nov in the Killik Cup, which they won 33-31.

Fiji Marketing Manager Demelza Fellowes invited the St Mary’s students to attend the session with around 20 players from the University watching the 90 minute session and meeting the players after training and get together with them for a team photo.

Sports President for St Mary's Students’ Union Becks Coade said, "This was a great opportunity for our rugby union players to watch and learn from elite athletes, a number of whom featured at the recent RWC in Japan, as they  prepared for their game against the Barbarians at Twickenham.

"Everyone was made to feel very welcome and the quality of the players and coaching that we saw was unbelievable. It was a privilege to be there."
