Communications, humanities and social policy

Individual and collective research strengths in history embrace a broad range of themes, periods and theories of history. A diverse range of particular interests includes the Ottoman Empire and radicalism in the United States of America and France.

Communications and media research at St Mary's covers film, television and the culture industry more widely including work on popular music and contemporary political communication both domestic and European.

Our philosophy research is interdisciplinary with an emphasis on its intersections with technology, science and literature, and the practice of philosophical dialogue.
