St Mary’s University has an experienced team of academics working in Primary RE both in the undergraduate and PGCE pathways. Current projects include collaborative studies and text production.
Maria James and Mary Benton are working with Canterbury Christchurch investigating what is special about universities with a church foundation and why increasing numbers of students choose to study there.
Maria James is also working with Middlesex University to find out what RE provision is about across certain universities. She is currently working on two texts in RE.
Claire Parkin is working with Professor Linda Woodhead and colleagues from Lancaster University, Edge Hill University and St Mark and St John's University to research current practice in collective worship in primary and secondary schools in England.
All research degree students at St Mary’s are part of the Doctoral College. All potential research students must first submit an online enquiry form with details of their proposal.
