The focus of the Recovery research theme is to enhance our knowledge and understanding of the recovery process by investigating factors influencing, and strategies for improving recovery from exercise across a range of abilities and populations.

Theme lead

Aims

  • To assess the efficacy of new and emerging recovery interventions.
  • To progress the research in established recovery interventions in order to identify ‘best practice’.
  • To improve understanding around the effects of long-term use of recovery interventions.
  • To investigate the relationship between training load and effects on fatigue and recovery.
