Level 3 Diploma in Instructing Pilates Matwork (Active iQ)

The Level 3 Diploma in Instructing Pilates Matwork (Active iQ) course is designed to provide learners with the knowledge and skills required to plan, prepare, and deliver safe and effective Pilates sessions.

Once you have successfully passed this course, you will be a qualified instructor who can gain insurance and set up your own business or gain employment within the industry.

This course explores the origins of Pilates and the original principles of Joseph Pilates, including breathing, concentration, control, centring, precision, and flow and the fundamentals of Pilates including alignment, breathing, and centring.  This accredited Level 3 course will equip you with all the skills necessary to teach and instruct Mat Pilates at all levels from beginner to Intermediate. 

You will learn through a blended approach with a combination of face-to-face classes and practical workshops, each element will progress your skills, and develop your knowledge and teaching ability, enabling you to teach with confidence. In total, the course will take 300 hours to complete

Typically this part-time course run over five months with seven face-to-face sessions, which from 9am-5.30pm.

This course will be held at our Main Campus, Strawberry Hill.

Price

  • The full cost is £900.
  • The deposit cost is £150. 

Content

Whilst enrolled upon the course you will study seven mandatory units:

  • anatomy and physiology
  • principles of exercise, fitness and health
  • health and safety
  • how to support clients
  • principles of Pilates Matwork
  • how to programme Pilates Matwork classes
  • how to instruct Pilates Matwork classes.

Assessments

The course is assessed via:

  • coursework/project
  • multiple choice examination
  • portfolio of evidence
  • practical demonstration/assignment.

Requirements

The course requires physical exertion, therefore a degree of physical fitness is necessary. Experience of attending a Pilates course is highly recommended.

There is an element of communication involved and learners should have basic skills in communication pitched at Level 2.

Due to the amount of information covered in the course, home study and practice will be required. 

Award

Upon successful completion of this module, you will be awarded an Active iQ Level 3 Diploma in Instructing Pilates Matwork. You will able to gain insurance and set up your own business or gain employment within the industry. This qualification is CIMSPA endorsed.
