For the latest update on all Sport St Mary’s programmes and facilities (including SIMMSport) please see our update from 29th July.
The SIMMSport team has been developing a plan to restart the programme and most importantly, to support the safe return of children and allow them to enjoy their participation on campus.
Our “return to activity” plan is subject to Government guidance, and whilst currently there is nothing specific on children’s sporting activities, we are adapting the information that’s been released to help children return to their educational settings.
The plan, which is being developed alongside guidelines released by the appropriate National Governing Bodies of sport, is allowing us to work through all the possibilities of running camps this summer and to establish how they could work safely. We are constantly reviewing this to include the most up-to-date information.
It is not currently possible to provide a precise picture of how SIMMSport programmes will look and run this summer, or when weekly sessions are due to recommence in September, however we recognise how important the programme is to the community of children, parents and coaches who are involved, and the benefits it provides in terms of physical and mental wellbeing.
If at all possible, our intention at this stage would be for SIMMSport camps to go ahead. The team is working to put the best feasible programme in place, ensuring that it places the health and safety of all involved first and it runs in accordance with all of the necessary and available guidance. The programme will be delivered once we have complete confidence that it can be delivered safely, whilst giving the children the high quality of experience they expect of SIMMSport.
We will soon be seeking feedback from users on our programmes on our “return to activity” plan and will include a link to this in our next update. For thelatest updates on the SIMMSport programme, please check our website where we will continue to update this statement.
We will also be touch with all of our current customers over the coming weeks as our plans develop. Thank you for your continued support of the SIMMSport programme, and we hope to see you soon.
