James Tallon

Senior Lecturer - Master's in Education

Biography

James is currently a Senior Lecturer and Partnership Manager for the MA Education (Leading Innovation and Change). 

His interest in this area developed while he was still involved in the training and development of senior managers in the private retail sector. Indeed James still holds a Director position in private industry as well as providing consultancy services.

In addition to his role at St Mary's he is also a nominated tutor for the British Institute of Inn keeping Awarding Body (BIIAB) and also for the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health (CIEH).

James has written a number of private papers for different company’s all critically commenting on the distinctions between Managers and Leaders and exploring the factors surrounding resistance to change particularly culture, micro-politics and individual psychology.

The focus of his Ed Doc is to investigate if the ‘findings’ of Jim Collins industry research From Good to Great, apply to the educational sector of schools.
