Lloyd is a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of England & Wales and brings into his teaching role over seven years’ post qualification experience as a practising dispute resolution specialist within the Commercial Department of Blaser Mills LLP. Having followed the LLB Degree and LPC Diploma route into the profession, Lloyd worked in-house within the legal department a large insurance firm, before joining the Business Crime and Fraud team at a top tier West London firm. He went on to do his training contract with Blaser Mills LLP before working as an Associate Solicitor, with the additional roles of Trainee Mentor and a member of the Risk and Compliance Team. 

Lloyd joined St Mary’s University in January 2015 to pursue a passion for legal education. He teaches Legal Process and the Introduction to the Practice of Law, The Law of International Trade, Insurance Law, Work Based Learning for Law and contributes to Employment Law in the Workplace. In addition to his teaching roles, Lloyd is the Law Programme’s Careers Tutor, in the context of which he is able to draw on his strong links with private practice. Lloyd is also a Mooting Coordinator.

Recognising the importance placed on commercial awareness as a graduate attribute, Lloyd designed, implemented and continues to deliver an innovative Commercial Awareness Seminar Series open to all undergraduate law students at St Mary’s.

Lloyd is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and a member of the Law Society, the Association of Law Teachers and the Society of Legal Scholars.

Outside of St Mary’s Lloyd is a volunteer with Richmond Mencap, a charity working with and for people with learning disabilities.

Currently undertaking an MA in Academic Practice, Lloyd is exploring pedagogies and regulatory measures concerning professionalism within legal services at the domestic and international level.
