St Mary's Bursary

St Mary’s University, Twickenham is committed to providing an environment that encourages and supports students from diverse backgrounds to study at our university.

We are pleased to announce the launch of our new St Mary’s Bursary, worth £2,000 for each year of your degree programme whilst you study at St Mary’s University (maximum of three years for an undergraduate degree. Additional funding for one year is available if you are undertaking an extended degree with a foundation year and/or if you progress to a PGCE programme).

To be eligible to apply, you need to meet the following criteria:

  1. Have a household income of £15,000 per annum, or less;
  2. Are classified as ‘Home’ or ‘EU’ for fee status purposes; and
  3. Have a place on a full-time undergraduate or full-time PGCE course starting in September 2019

If you would like to be considered for one of these bursaries, please complete our online application form including a statement of no more than 500 words outlining how these funds will be used to support and enhance your studies and any plans you may have to engage with and enhance the St Mary’s community. If you are a mature student, or if you have additional needs, such as a disability, unpaid carer responsibilities, refugee status or similar, please include this in your application and it can be taken into consideration when we make decisions about how the bursaries will be awarded.

The deadline for submission of applications is the 30th April 2019*, and you will receive a response within five working days.

Please note that any final offer of an award will be subject to you accepting St Mary’s University as your first choice institution and enrolling in September 2018 plus proof of household income from Student Finance Company. The university reserves the right to withdraw the award at any time should you behave in a manner that brings either yourself, or the university, into disrepute, you are subject to any academic or non-academic misconduct procedures or you are a university debtor.

*To stand the best chance of being awarded one of these scholarships and bursaries, please apply by the end of April 2019. However we will still consider applications until the end of September 2019, or until all awards are allocated, whichever is the earliest.
