Benedict XVI House is a lay community of St Mary’s University, established in September 2010 in honour of the visit of Pope Benedict XVI to the University.
Its purpose is to provide a space within the University for a small group consisting of one member of staff and ten students to pursue together a life of prayer, study, community and outreach to the wider St Mary's community.
There are currently ten places available to full time students of St Mary's University. The house is beautifully appointed, with a kitchen, dining room, living room and garden, as well as a small chapel area and on-site laundry facilities. Most study-bedrooms are en suite and of a very high standard.
Further details can be found in the Benedict XVI House leaflet (PDF), alternatively please direct all informal enquiries to firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com.

What Our Students Say
“My time at Benedict XVI house this academic year has been an amazing experience of both personal and spiritual growth. Being my first year at St Mary's, the prospect of university life was extremely daunting. However, the welcoming and friendly atmosphere of the house has made this year seem very easy and fun.”
"In considering where to live, I could think of no better place than Benedict XVI to enrich me with a wholesome, Christian community living experience. The house is beautiful, idyllic and extremely well situated in relation to the University. I am very grateful for the opportunity to live in Benedict XVI and cannot conceive of a more appropriate place for me to have finished my time at St Mary's University."
"The house ethics of serious commitment to study, the friendly environment, community spirit and lovely accommodation, helps motivate each of the individual housemates to better themselves, improve their grades and develop themselves for future education/vocations. The house also has a chapel, in which one can pray with others, or in solitude, which creates a three way link between home, university and the Church.
"Thank you Benedict House for giving us the chance to improve our lives through our time studying here and for the chance to give something back, to the academic and wider world and in the things each of us does daily."
