About the programme
The Tourism Summer School is aimed at university students from other countries studying Tourism, Culture, Heritage, Management or English Language, and who wish to broaden their understanding of another culture as well as improving their spoken and written English.
The two week programme aims to provide participants with a knowledge of British life and culture. Topics are explored through lectures, workshops and visits to historic, financial and cultural sites within central London.
Regular language classes also provide an opportunity for the students to practice their spoken and written English.
Participating in the summer school will bring many benefits including the opportunity to meet with students from other backgrounds and cultures, to find out about life in modern Britain and visit many of London's iconic sites as well as improving English language skills.
Accommodation will be available on campus in student Halls of Residence. There is a range of student accommodation available to visitors including shared rooms, single rooms with shared facilities as well as en suite rooms. All accommodation is strictly nonsmoking.
Self-service meals are provided by the University's Catering Department and are available in the Refectory.
The full cost of the two week programme is £1,500 and includes full-board accommodation, all teaching and outside visits.
Please note: it is the participants' responsibility to arrange and pay for their travel to and from St Mary’s.
